I have been an invited guest on several occasions to visit the 183RD Air National Guard At Springfield Illinois.
In 2003 we were shown around several F16's that they had & had a very interesting & informative visit.
In 2007 we were shown around the "Hush House" (Engine Run Up) where the aircraft with engine problems or new engine install were tested & also the flight line after some returning F16's landed.
The 183Rd wing now do not operate at Springfield airport any more, however it is a maintenance base for F16 engines, no Military aircraft are based here any more but the unit operates as a ANG & Civilian Engine repair Unit.
Camera used 2003 Konica Minolta Dimage Z1.
2007; Sony Alpha A100.
Lenses; 18/70 & 75/300.
